OK you took the time to see Larochette as a kind of virtual walk true, even do, you should visit Larochette in the real world whenever you have time, here are some nice spots of the village.

First we like to show you the catholic church from the inside during a divine.

The Saint-Donatus church of the village is located in the center of Larochette. The church was build  by the architect Charles Arendt from 1860-1862,  and seen a restoration some years ago. The wall paintings in the chorus room are from Nicolas Brücher (1874-1957), and are restored to there original beauty

There are divines every Saturday evening and of course Sunday mornings in Luxembourgish and Portuguese languages

This is a picture from the memorial stone placed in the village in 1998 as a remembrance to the partnership of two villages both called Fels

This partnership was sealed with a big celebration in the center of the village of Larochette on 11th July 1998.

The village Fels am Wagram is located in Austria  and Fiels (in German Fels) is the Luxembourgish name for Larochette. Both villages promised to have a cultural exchange and try to live up to the European thoughts of consciousness and awareness of an Europe where all people should exchange their thoughts and live together without giving up own personality and cultures but share them and live in peace and happiness.

The "Champignon" (Mushroom) a rock formation on the road to Nommern (a small village with a number of First class Campings) is worth a visit.

No this is not Disney world in Florida or Paris this beautiful castle is located ±3 Km from Larochette.

The castle is called "Meysembourg"  and is in private property and not opened for visit. Sure you can see it from the outside and also some walking routes from Larochette leading there.

In the Summer 2000 at the beginning of August this place was in the World News as there were the Hot Air Balloon European Championships  starting from the grass surrounding the castle.

The organizers of this mega event had promised take-offs of more than 120 balloons simultaneously, nightglows (also in the center of Larochette), special balloon take-off's (these are balloons looking like Mickey-Mouse or books, cats and dragons, houses or castles, sparkplugs, champagne bottles, etc. etc.)  and many day's of competitions to find out who is the best  balloon-pilot in Europe. see the Special Pages for pictures and details on this super-event in the summer of the year 2000.

In the summer on special catholic holidays there are so-called "Processions".

On this picture you see a stop during a procession in front of an altar, specially made for this occasion, where the Pastor is praying and blessing the Holy Christ. The main road is closed during this event and very often a long cue of cars are waiting until the procession is over and the roads are cleared for normal traffic.

The swimming pool of Larochette is a construction witch can be opened during good weather conditions or closed if the weather do not allow open-air swimming. See the calendar for opening times of the swimmingpool

The swimming pool is located on a plateau direction Mersch directly beside a camping.

There are 3 campings in the direct surroundings of Larochette, and, in the neighbor villages many more camping locations give plenty of  space for all those who want to enjoy the  natural area of the Mullerthal, Nommerlyen, the valley of Septchateau or simply looking for a relaxing holiday in the beautiful area of Larochette in the country called Luxembourg, the green hard of Europe.

Also during autumn or in the winter Larochette and Luxembourg are a location you will remember.

Enjoy the colors of an European Indian summer or see how a snowy winter wonderland transforms  Luxembourg in a picture as seen once in a book of fairytales.

Now look at this! Is this not your dream location for your next holiday?
